Fathom the Fear: Evoke Your Inner Force and Build Something Extraordinary

You know that feeling when it suddenly dawns on you that you are stuck - and have been stuck, and going round and around in circles - for quite a while now? 

Of being unable to move forwards, despite all those ideas you've been jotting down, and all those projects you have started, then stopped, then started, then stopped? 

Paralysed even, to the point of not taking action and missing out on opportunities, incredible though they might be.

Those moments that seem to draw in feelings of doubt, self-criticism, and fear of the unknown like moths to a light?

Why is it that we let those negative or saboteur thoughts take over and make these sorts of decisions in our lives?

And - what if I told you that by embracing your fears, you would actually have the power to unlock your true potential and be open to building something new?

Fear is a powerful emotion. It serves as a protective mechanism, keeping us safe from harm, but only for a second or two. As a warning. 

If we stay in that fear, it can also become a barrier, preventing us from reaching our full potential, or any potential at all.

Do you ever wonder why you sometimes get defensive and make excuses? 

This is our fear keeping us safe, holding us back to avoid dealing with the issue at hand. 

It’s hard sometimes to see that this is happening and to understand what it is we are afraid of.

In starting my business I was wondering why I wasn’t getting the results and the connections that I was hoping for and I came up with all sorts of excuses as to why I couldn’t do what I was supposed to do, like reach out or go to networking events. Rather than figure out how I could find other ways, to connect, I distracted myself with learning about how to build a website, how to create funnels, and all the fun techy stuff that takes you down one rabbit hole after another. 

Until the moment came when I had to find a way forwards or give up. After all, there are only so many funnels you can create if no one is aware of them they sort of lose their lustre!

So, what was going on? What was I covering up? 

Rejection and the fear of appearing foolish are just a couple of the common fears that hold us back. I realised I was afraid of appearing unprofessional, new, or simply not experienced enough. 

The first step in overcoming these fears is to identify them. Recognize that they exist and acknowledge the impact they have on your life and aspirations. 

By bringing these fears to light, I was able to understand their hold over me and I felt immediately lighter, I even laughed, and at that point, I knew was ready to take the necessary steps to let these fears go.

This is indeed the moment when the magic happens. The invisible chains that held me back suddenly disappeared - now there was space for growth, development, and creativity. 

By confronting and overcoming fear, you open the door to accessing your intuition. Your intuition, this beautifully powerful tool that guides you towards what feels right and authentic. This is where your true magic lies.

Building something new only becomes possible once fear is no longer holding you back. Whether it's moving ahead in your business venture, a creative project, or personal growth, you now have the freedom to explore. Without the saboteur fear that clouds your judgment, you can now embrace the unknown with some of the sage powers of curiosity, creativity, and excitement.

Here are three steps to get started on embracing fear and unlocking your inner magic:

  • Identify Your Fears: Observe your thoughts, write down every time you say or think - I can’t - and find out what exactly lies behind your stuckness. Understanding the specific fears that hold you back is crucial in overcoming them.
  • Challenge Your Fears: Start by taking small steps outside of your comfort zone. Show up for yourself as you would like to be. Call that job, go to that networking event. Surround yourself with supportive individuals who believe in you and encourage your growth. Seek out mentors and coaches who have the tools to help you overcome your fears.
  • Tap Into Your Intuition: Practice being in the moment with meditation or mental fitness exercises. Train self-reflection through regular journaling to help you connect with your intuition. Listening to your instincts will help you learn to regain trust in your gut instincts and allow them to guide your decisions. Engage in activities that boost your confidence and self-belief.

This is how building your mental fitness works. Remember, embracing fear is a process. As you let go of one fear, new ones may arise. But with each fear you address, you become more confident in your ability to face challenges head-on. You begin to gain a new trust in yourself.
